Frequently asked questions

Honest answers about what ClipRadar does — and what it doesn't. For the full walkthrough, see how it works.

What is ClipRadar?

ClipRadar is a short-form video idea generator. It reads your analytics, current trends in your niche, and the formats platforms reward right now, then generates video ideas ranked by a 0–100 View Potential Score. Every idea comes from real numbers, not guesses.

Which platforms does ClipRadar support?

Ideas are generated and scored for TikTok, YouTube Shorts, and Instagram Reels. You pick your platforms during onboarding, and every idea gets scored per platform.

Is ClipRadar free?

Yes. Everything is free while ClipRadar is in beta, until August 1. After that, ClipRadar stays free with a small ClipRadar watermark on generated output, and paid plans will remove it. No prices have been announced yet.

What is the View Potential Score?

Every idea gets a 0–100 score estimating its potential to pull views, based on your own analytics, trend data in your niche, and the formats each platform currently rewards. Ideas are ranked so the strongest concepts sit at the top of your radar.

Do I have to connect a platform account?

No. You can add videos manually, import a CSV, or load sample data to explore. Connecting YouTube just automates it: a read-only sync imports the Shorts from your 50 most recent uploads with views, likes, comments, shares, and watch percentage.

Is connecting YouTube safe?

Yes. The connection uses Google sign-in, so ClipRadar never sees your password. Access is read-only: ClipRadar can read your video stats but can never upload, edit, or change anything on your channel. You can disconnect at any time.

Can I connect TikTok or Instagram analytics?

TikTok and Instagram connections are being rolled out through a licensed analytics data provider and are not generally available yet. In the meantime you can add TikTok and Reels videos manually or by CSV, and idea generation for both platforms works fully today.

Where does the trending data come from?

YouTube trends come from real public YouTube data. TikTok and Instagram do not offer official trending APIs, so ClipRadar shows public video examples from those platforms via a third-party data provider and links out to trend tools like TikTok Creative Center.

How many ideas do I get per scan?

Each scan generates eight ideas calibrated to your niche, platforms, style, and analytics. You can rescan for a fresh batch, generate a variation of any idea, or turn a trending video into your own version with one click.

Does ClipRadar write scripts or edit videos?

No. ClipRadar generates ideas, each with a title, hook, and format, and tracks them through production. Scripting is a stage on your pipeline board, but ClipRadar does not write full scripts, edit footage, or post videos for you.

What happens after I post a video?

Move the idea to Posted on the Pipeline board and log its real stats. Those numbers join your analytics and sharpen every future scan, which is what makes the radar more accurate the longer you use it.

I'm just starting out — will it work without my own analytics?

Yes. Feed in videos that worked for anyone in your niche, manually or by CSV, or load sample data to explore. The radar works from real numbers, whether or not they are yours yet, and it sharpens as you post and log your own results.
