How ClipRadar works
ClipRadar is a short-form video idea generator for creators on TikTok, YouTube Shorts, and Instagram Reels. It reads your analytics and current platform trends, then ranks every idea by view potential — real numbers, not guesses. Here is the full loop, step by step.
1. Set up your profile in about 30 seconds
Sign up with Google or email, then answer three quick questions: what you make videos about (your niche), where you post (TikTok, YouTube Shorts, Instagram Reels — pick all that apply, because ideas get scored per platform), and how you would describe your content style in one line. Every idea ClipRadar generates is calibrated to those three answers.
2. Feed the radar real numbers
The radar needs a signal, and that signal is video performance data. You can feed it in a few ways:
- Connect YouTube. A read-only Google sign-in automatically imports the Shorts from your 50 most recent uploads, with views, likes, comments, shares, and average watch percentage. No CSV exports needed, and ClipRadar never sees your password.
- Add videos manually or import a CSV. Feed in videos that worked — yours or anyone's. More real numbers, sharper ideas.
- Load sample data if you just want to explore before wiring anything up.
3. Scan for ideas
Hit Scan for ideas on the Idea Radar. AI generates eight ideas per scan, calibrated to your niche, your videos, live trend data in your space, and what you have saved, dismissed, or posted before. Each idea comes with a title, hook, and format, plus a 0–100 View Potential Score so the strongest concepts sit at the top. Many ideas also attach a real proof example — an actual video found through public YouTube search that shows the concept pulling views — and a "based on your videos" line so you can see exactly where the idea came from. Save what is worth making, dismiss the rest, or generate a variation of anything close. All of that feedback sharpens the next scan.
4. Watch what's blowing up
The Trending Radar shows the fastest-moving Shorts in your niche from the last 7 days, ranked by view velocity. It is real public YouTube data — no connection required — plus a discovery list of top niche videos across TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube. Hit My version on anything and ClipRadar turns it into a personalized idea on your radar, with an "inspired by" line back to the original. The Trends Pulse page adds one more layer: the formats each platform rewards right now, which are the same signals that power idea scoring.
5. Move ideas through the Pipeline
Saved ideas land on a kanban board with four stages: Saved → Scripting → Filming → Posted. Drag ideas through production as you work. When a video goes live, log its real stats — views, likes, comments — and that record joins your analytics, sharpening every future scan. That is the whole loop: real numbers in, ranked ideas out, real results back in.
What ClipRadar doesn't do
ClipRadar does not edit footage, write full scripts, schedule posts, or upload anything to your accounts. It is the idea layer: deciding what is worth filming next, backed by data instead of gut feel. If you want the finer details — platform connections, the score, beta pricing — the FAQ covers them, and there are deeper walkthroughs for YouTube Shorts ideas and cross-platform short-form ideas.
